Buyer \(Mech Eng\)
If you are an experienced Buyer, with strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to not only source new suppliers and obtain a competitive price, but also be hands on to check the quality of components being manufactured abroad before they are imported to our client in the UK, then we have a superb opportunity for you in the heart of Devon. Your role will involve extensive liaison with and travel to see suppliers throughout the UK, Europe and the Far East so you must be prepared to be away from home on a very regular basis. This is a manufacturing environment, and you must have a technical background with an ability to read technical drawings.
Essential Requirements- You will have proven experience sourcing and negotiating with suppliers in the Far East, and also be prepared to undertake regular visits abroad to visit them and complete supplier audits.
- In addition to your superb buying skills, you will also be adept at expediting goods and be prepared to check the quality of goods coming off the supplier’s production lines, which requires a very hands-on manner.
- Exposure to sourcing sheet metals, and some knowledge of electronic components manufacture would be useful.
